Does Character Count?

February 10th, 2010

You Tell Us!

Would you vote for John Edwards as the next President of the United States?  Many people wouldn’t, even people that agree with his politics.  Why not?  Some people now question whether or not former Senator Edwards has sufficient character for the job?  What do YOU think?

Does Character Count?

February 10th, 2010

President Obama has had associations with individuals who many people feel are of bad character.  If you agree, that he has, do you feel those associations should have disqualified him (morally) to become President?

Does Character Count?

Sarah Palin

There have been accusations of wrongdoing in Alaska.  On top of that, Governor Palin didn’t complete her term as Governor.  Are these symptoms of character issues?  If so, important enough to cast doubts on her suitability to hold office?

Eliot Spitzer

February 10th, 2010

Do yoy agree with this comment about Governor Paterson I took from  the New York Times?

“I’d rather Spitzer come back. Same (sic) what you want about his personal affairs but he could at least get stuff done.”

Scott Brown

February 10th, 2010

Agree with Scott Brown’s politics or not, can you come up with any character issues? I can’t.

David Paterson or the media

February 10th, 2010

The Governor of New York has been under attack by the media lately. Rumors of womanizing and drug use.  No solid evidence has surfaced yet.  What does this say about the character of the media.  If the media is reporting as fact, allegations that are not true, should those media outlets be punished, If so, how?

Bill Clinton

February 10th, 2010

If Bill was eligible for another term, and you like his ideas and leadership qualities, would you vote for him?  Or is there  a character issue?  Why or why not? Let us know what YOU think?

John Kerry

February 10th, 2010

Known as a flip-flopper, “I voted for the war before I voted against it” and some have questioned his war time record and the throwing of his medals over the White House fence in protest.  Are these poor qualities that disqualify him for office or enlightened qualities?  Some people in Massachusetts remember Senator Kerry having the fire hydrant in front of his house moved and feel he’s to removed from the people, what do you think?

Newt Gingrich

February 10th, 2010

How about Newt?  Some conservatives feel, this is the guy!  Others are concerned about Newt’s character because of an untimely indiscretion in his past.  If his politics and potential policies are good for America, is he the right man for the job?

Ned Lamont – Does Character Count or just money?

February 10th, 2010

Now running for Governor, critics of Ned Lamont have criticized the wealthy businessman, who spent $16 million of his own money in the Connecticut Senate race, for announcing  he is opting out of Connecticut’s public campaign financing program.

Ned said “We stood up to the political establishment.” and “”I’m a big believer in clean campaigns but I’m not going to go into this battle with one arm tied behind my back.” .

Is Ned a man of character?  YOU tell the rest of us!

Christy Mihos candidate for Governor of Massachusetts

February 10th, 2010

Christy Mihos was appointed to the board of the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority by Republican Governor William Weld.  Christy fought against toll increases, fraud and waste at the Turnpike.

Some people in the Massachusetts Republican party felt betrayed by him, and the then Republican governor, Jane Swift attempted to fire him.  Christy fought back and retained his position on the board.  Was this a sign of character or a sign of disloyalty?  Should this be  a relevant consideration for the voters of Massachusetts?  Let us know what YOU think.
